Honest question about my fav house.

by:

No hate please. So, of the houses I have for house tours, I really like the girls I’ve met at AXO. They seem chill & fun & friendly.

I’m hesitating though because of GR. Not for ratings or anything like that. It’s cuz the AXO that seems to post all the time on GR honestly seems like a mean girl psycho. It makes me so sad to read her posts because I think my friends and roommate are likely gonna end up in the houses that I see this AXO putting down.

My instinct is to trust my gut and the girls I’ve met and that I’ll regret cutting AXO based on a GR AXO who might just be a troll.

It’s such a confusing and stressful time. I don’t even know what advice I’m looking for.. I guess just confirmation that how one or two people posting on GR isn’t representative of a house overall, specifically AXO which I love in person but don’t like on GR.

Thank you and good luck to everyone.

hi girl! so glad you’re recruitment process is going well and you’re excited about this house. girls from a majority (if not all houses) are on greek rank year-round. this is most apparent during recruitment when houses get competitive. the true rankings will come out on this site after recruitment when people reflect on how houses did. i would say to try and keep online feeds separate from your in-person experience. no one can truly know what houses are commenting what on this site, but people like to assume the worst in houses (especially those competing for girls, are close in rank, etc). i’m sure there’s tons of people who post, comment and troll on this site more than you think. it’s not just 1 or 2 people from a certain house - it’s people who go to syracuse, people who don’t, people who are in greek life, and people who aren’t. i also feel like most times, guys/girls will “pretend” to post things coming from a specific house in order to make that house look even worse. greek like is pretty competitive when it comes to rank, and sometimes it does get out of hand on this site especially this time of year. please focus on your conversations with the girls and trust your gut. at the end of the day, top/middle/bottom houses are all great and rankings don’t tell the whole story of joining a sorority and making the most of it during your time at cuse. wish you the best of luck, i hope this helps!

Always…..trust your gut and the real-life interactions!!!! Like the person before me said, who even knows who’s behind the nasty posts about any one house. Yes, some posts might be made by catty members here or there—looking to stir the pot or create baseless internet drama. There are hundreds of girls in each house and each house has all kinds. If you feel in your heart ALpha Chi is for you, then it is. Ignore everything else. It’s a wonderful house just like every other one is.

I agree with what everyone said, best advice for every pnm is to go with your gut and how your in person conversations go!! I was in a house that everyone said was constantly “on greekrank” and I LOVED it. Also our recruitment chair would tell us to NEVER post on gr and to not even look at it and everyone would assume things anyways. Go with your gut. Greek rank is maybe the worst way to rank the houses you want.

I also believe that there are people “pretending” to be certain houses so that they get more hate, for example, one of the comments on this post. Sororities are NOT on Greek rank right now they are working their asses off recruiting so whoever is leaving hate on these sites right now is not in Greek life.
