Message from a senior

I know recruitment is starting tm and it got me thinking of when I was a freshman going through it

I wish someone had told me then that it really doesn’t matter what house you get in. I have friends in every house and they are great girls. Going into recruitment with an open mind and the excitement that you’re going to make at least one great friend and at the very least meet some friendly faces and create connections to girls on this big campus. Also know that it’s OK to have friends in different houses and I was able to go to all of my friends different events. You also don’t need to be in a sorority to go out as a girl you can go to any frat, no matter your sorority. Now as a senior, I’ve disaffiliated, but I’m still friends with the ones I made in my sorority. The emphasis on Greek life as ann upperclassman is much smaller. I know it sounds like a big deal now but just trust yourself that you’ll find your people if it’s in Greek life or not. One last piece of advice is to avoid this website during recruitment, it rarely leads to positive vibes and just trust your instincts.

It’s not normal to disaffiliate as a senior…

But there are a variety of reasons why somebody chooses to disaffiliate. Money, time, need to focus on academics, etc. It doesn't mean there's drama.
