Sophomore doing rush again in the spring

You will be fine. Yes, it helps if you have friends in houses. No, you won't be cut just because you're a sophomore. There are a lot less sophs rushing so it typically all shakes out. I was in your shoes and ended up where I wanted to be by trying again. Same with others I know. People change a lot in one year--you are going to be more confident and secure at SU, already have a group of good friends going in, and can be more yourself overall. Good luck!

It does and anyone who says otherwise is not being transparent. Some sororities will favor you less if you have previously rushed and are a sophomore. Especially if you went back more than twice. Having friends 100% will help. But, this last year of rush was VERY competitive and A LOT of sophomores will be rushing. What you get back is not going to be vastly different, so I’d prepare yourself for that.
