What was sorority quota?

Is it true that if had 2 houses going into pref, and you didn’t suicide, you got a bid from one of them? So that’s how there are houses that have more MCs than quota and why Nationals may push a chapter to do COB in the spring?

sets their own house numbers to run their business.
They make money from dues so while a university can set quota for recruitment afterwards, a chapter's national can look and see what the house needs to be at from a national number to be considered "full"
