Is it possible to join a sorority that isn't listed as participating in informal rush this fall?

This happens when a person is known to/is friends with current actives. In this case a person is invited directly and there may or may not be informal get togethers.

It is not likely/possible to be up for consideration a sorority that is not participating in informal recruitment! If there is a sorority that catches your eye, I would go through formal recruitment in the spring (it also may expose you to many houses that you may not have known about, and might find you love), or check out in the spring what houses are participating in COB!
