Hazing within Sororities
by: helloHi! I am going to Syracuse next year and definitely want to rush! I was wondering if you could say which houses are known for hazing, and if so, what they normally do to their new members. Also, if you know of any that definitely don't haze, that would be appreciated too.

Hi! I was just like you when I was coming here, I heard so many hazing rumors and was terrified. The truth is, MOST houses do not haze anymore. Panhellenic cracked down on it in recent years. I can tell you the ones that I am sure of but the rest I can't speak on (experiences from myself and my friends in these houses).
AXO, theta, Delta Gamma, Gphi, and Dphie do not haze. I am 100% sure of all of those, theta used to but do not anymore as of the last 3 years.
The ones that definitely do haze: Kappa, TriDelt, and AZD. Kappa's hazing is the older girls making the pledge class do favors and tasks for them, they are basically "on call" 24/7 and have to do anything they are asked of by their sisters during the entire new member process, and I've heard they yell at their pledge classes a lot. AZD is more emotional and psychological hazing, and Tridelt is a mix of both types of hazing.
The rest I am not sure of their new member process. Hope this helps!

Dude this is such a lie. I know for a fact that AXO and SDT currently haze. And for the top tier, I’m 99% sure APhi still hazes, it’s the same as what Tri Delt and Kappa do, but I’ll admit I don’t have as much intel on them.

^ um no axo’s “hazing” isn’t really hazing anymore..... like it isn’t what anyone considers real hazing. they’re pretty careful now after getting kicked off for real hazing a few years ago. I’d worry more about sdt and honestly theta can haze pretty hard not that they’d ever admit it here

AXO does not haze. They’re literally the most anti hazing house on campus. And who are you to say theta “hazes hard” but you don’t even give any actual evidence or examples? Girl up there came out with specific stuff each house that hazes actually does. Don’t spread rumors if you have zero clue what you’re talking abouf

AXO is the most anti hazing house on campus they do not haze ik this for a fact. There’s a lot of rumors about theta hazing but im 99% sure it’s bs. Aphi def yells at their pcs but not to the extent that tridelt and kappa do. I’m curious what SDT does? Someone spill please :)
