Round 3 House Tours

by: rush

Hi. I'm a PNM and I am feeling not so great about recruitment anymore because I don't love my schedule today. All the houses I liked during philanthropy dropped me. I thought my conversations went extremely well and I connected with the members of those chapters.

Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me? I do not even know if I will continue recruitment after today, I don't feel any sort of connection with the very few houses I have left. Am I just not good at talking to people or what is it? Did other PNM's have this experience? I only know one other person rushing and to my knowledge she got called back to the chapters she wanted. I feel disappointed in this process, everyone says trust the process but I am extremely hurt by the rejection and feeling confused and lost.

Hi! It’s completely normal to feel this way. Honestly, just stick it out and see where you end up. You never know who you’ll meet. You can find girls who are similar to you in every house. Keep an open mind, positive attitude, and give it your best shot. If you want to drop later and re-rush next year, you can do that too.

Keep at it! Try to build connections! Sometimes you have to cut through the clutter to find the gem meant for you!

Hi! This is so so normal. The biggest cuts occur going into round 3, and a lot of girls lose what they consider to be their “top” houses. That said, please keep an open mind!!! So many of the girls that are feeling like this right now are about to fall in love with a chapter they never expected to!

Also, remember that recruitment (on both ends) is a show. Everyone is putting their best foot forward trying to appeal to either pnms or recruiters. I promise you that recruiters know their house better than you do so trust them if they think you’d be better off somewhere else, you probably are!!!

honestly sometimes where you think you should be is where you are not supposed to be! You may truly be surprised by what you find in another house.

I only had one house going into house tours, I didn’t want it at all. I wanted to drop and I didn’t want to accept my bid. I stuck with it and I really love my chapter now and even have a position! Give it a shot. If you’re unhappy you can rush again next year but you wont unless you wait it out

All the advice here is spot on. Follow through even if you aren't feeling it. If you accept you bid and give it a try for a few weeks you will be able to tell if you connect with the chapter. You can drop before initiation and try again next year if it really isn't a good fit. 9/10 times people find lifelong friends by giving it a try.
