To the PNMs: Ignore This Site
by: srat galRush is nearly upon us and I think it is incredibly important as a PNM to know that this website is not representative of how greek life actually is on campus or how people view other chapters. In fact, this website makes greek life look really petty and like everyone is mean to each other. All of the chapters are great and it's an incredibly supportive community :) good luck with recruitment and go where you are happy

For the most part, greeks are respectful of and friendly to one another, at least publicly. But you must be naive to think houses treat each other just the same, are granted the same opportunities/perks, and don’t very much consider hierarchies. Lower tier houses like DPhie AGD AEPhi are nice from my experience but aren’t treated equal for example socially due to their reps for being “lower.” Majority of frats won’t mix with them and upper tier girls pick socializing with other upper girls over them (or mid tier girls).
Yes PNMs should limit use of this site as the mean way people talk here is very extreme, it’s not representative of how it truly is and many posters flat out lie, but pretending some of these problems don’t exist or that all the posts are from 5 random toxic people in all of Greek life isn’t accurate either and doesn’t help anyone, especially not PNMs - it’s in some ways just as misleading.
Greek life isn’t the crazed cliques this site makes it look like but it’s also not one big happy Greek family that sees each other as equals.

pnms please don’t get too swayed by this anon site. yes some sororities party more than others, have closer sisterhoods than others, etc. but there is bound to be at least one girl you get along with well in EVERY sorority so keep an open mind. there are also toxic girls in EVERY sorority. getting sucked into here could make you yet another one of them. you’ll be so much happier if you don’t get set on anything and focus on being a good person to everyone.
