Do srats at Syracuse dirty rush?

by: Newb

Hey there, I am a freshman and I grew up in the South. I was wondering if dirty rushing happens at Syracuse? My friends who went to SEC schools had lots of srats PM them over the summer to get to know them. I haven’t heard much about that here.

Most of the "dirty rushing" takes place amongst the groups that "know" pnms from camp. If you aren't in that circle, no worries!

Yes. This is about all I heard as true. Not really a big thing here.

Tridelt and SDT/Aephi definitely do. I’m suspicious of Aphi but haven’t come across evidence yet

I wanted to acknowledge how messed up it is for Aphi to dirty rush so many COB's this semester without even participating in informal recruitment. as a sophomore who's rushing, its kind of disheartening to see a bunch of girls in your class get bids without going through recruitment simply because they know people in the house already. Aphi is a house I was really interested in and I personally do not feel like its fair for the rest of us when other girls are given the opportunity to join greek life sooner because of their connections, the whole point of rush is to get to know all the houses equally and the members get to know you without biases of underlying factors and people can get in serious trouble for that stuff. just goes to show you how corrupt this system is lol. will no longer be considering Aphi this spring as I do not particularly want to be in a house that feels like they're above the rules.

Can someone tell me what the advantage is?
Why do this in the fall before recruitment?

The only advantage I could see would be not having to go through rush and meet with every single house which is time consuming, but wouldn’t you want to see all the houses before you make a blind decision? COB’s after formal recruitment is over make more sense, but when you’re handing out bids to girls who know nothing about the other houses and never will, it seems a bit desperate IMO.

also what is the advantage to alpha phi? based on this site it’s like they have their pick, why do cob this fall?

So heavily recruited girls who would probably pick the other top houses if they actually went through recruitment and had the option to, are not given the chance to do so.
