how predetermined is srat rush at Syracuse?

i'm wondering how much of rush is determined during the process at su, and how much is already determined before rush even starts. do srats at su go into rush knowing the specific girls they want to pledge? or is it more open and determined during the rounds?

For houses that know who they want to pledge ahead of rush, how do figure this out- is it girls they know from home, girls they meet going out, things like that?

Isn't there a rule where at some point during fall semester and before rush starts, upperclass women in sororities are not allowed to interact with freshmen women anymore?

Yes there’s a silent period that starts near the end of fall semester to prevent dirty rushing

A rec can't hurt. Not every house uses them as they are supposed to (meaning don't care that much what alums think) but it won't hurt you. May break a tie in your favor.
