truth about tiers (pnms: please read)

by:

Advice from a senior: please do not care about tiers when you rush. I chose a house that was "more popular" and now I'm STILL uncomfortable in my house, haven't made many friends and rethink my decision quite often. In the end, all that matters is making good friends. When you graduate, TIERS DO NOT MATTER, friends do. Don't be fooled by the cuse bubble.

Spot. On. I preffed two houses. One a "top tier" and one a "mid tier." For me, my heart knew that the women I would form real and deep friendships with was at the "not as popular" house. In the beginning, I'm gonna be honest....I wondered if I made the wrong choice and should have put the other house as my top choice. But as I made friends and realized these girls were girls I could share who I am through and through with and they'd still have my back and love me even more, that's when I knew I was home. NOT to bash top tier houses---obviously there are women for whom THAT is where they are meant to be because those are the strongest connections they feel. What I'm saying and what the OP is saying is look beyond superficial reputations and tiers! Trust your gut Trust your heart. Every house parties, every house has amazing women who will be your BFFs and some you won't click with----but you'll find MORE of the former if you make a decision based on who you are versus who you think you need to be to be cool/accepted, etc.

Exactly. No worse feeling than having no real friends in my house. All Greek life has given me is a few girls to say hi to on campus. I try to go to as many events as possible, but I end up leaving early because it is so awkward to just stand there surrounded by cliques. PLEASE. You don't want this to be you. Go with your gut
