I feel like everyone kinda does the same stuff. what are the tiers based on?

Mostly looks. Hotter guys/girls are in the top tier chapters. Plainer guys/girls are in the bottom tier houses. All houses have accomplished smart members that are fun to hang with. It is basic HS stuff, like who gets picked first for gym class teams, in another form. The "cool" kids are "top". Don't focus on it. You will make friends and have a blast in every tier.
