south campus
by: TransferJust got into SU as a transfer and I was told I can only live at Skyhall in south campus. How are these dorms socially? WIll It be hard to meet people in greek life or other sophomores who aren't transfers? Do many of the fraternities take sophomore pledges?

You will make friends - just don't stay in your dorm all the time. I mean obviously Skyhall is a really crappy location for a Dorm hall because you have to take a bus all the time. There are many apartment/houses in South campus so you can chill with people there. You will be fine - a lot of people like South campus anyway. I'm not too familiar with Skyhall, but in dorms, some floors are social with each other while some are not, depends. Your being a transfer student will not be an impediment to meeting people at all. And a ton of sophomores pledge fraternities, so don't worry about that. But if I were you, I would make up an excuse/reason & call housing every day to request a location change if you can - maybe have your parents call too.. It works sometimes. Congrats on getting in

Agreed with above. My only advice is stay off these sites. Its just a bunch of the crappy frats self ranking. If you want to join one Id go around Walnut and some of Comstock for parties and see if you can meet brothers there, in your classes (if they go), or at the gym. Just be yourself though. The guys that try to hard to get into greek life usually end up not getting bids from the houses they want.
