Stop. Absolutely not true. I joined as a sophomore and if anything I bonded better with the rest of the house than the freshman. I was still really close to my PC, too. Stop spreading fear.

Everyone gets your deetails before rush starts. Your GPA, where you are from, major, your academic year. Why would you hide it?!?!?! They'll find out eventually. You aren't like a leper for being a sophomore.
