how big does gpa have a say in invite/bid

So I was interested in a few houses but my gpa was pretty low basically lower than the requirement. I met soooo many people in each of the houses and I didn't get an invite back, it concerns me not to get an invite back but the entire time during rush I was laughing, bonding and overall having great conversations with these guys.

Does GPA really have a huge say in rush? I know my personality well enough after having so many friends over the years, to say that I get along with people pretty well, I know some fraternities have egos and that can be a big part in who they want but I'm considering rushing in the fall again and just want to have feedback on how big GPA has a say in who they want.

The houses I was interested in for fall were:

Sammy
Phi kappa psi
