dropping, and rushing as a sophomore
by: Need advice!
Hey guys! Right now I'm pledging a house that I don't vibe with. I really want to dedicate my time to things I love. I was really excited to join a chapter and find a place that felt like "home". I know that my current chapter isn't the right place for me. Would it be acceptable to try and rush again next spring as a sophomore?
Thanks!
#1by: You can try!
You can try! I know people who have tried in the past and a few have found a better fit for them. But you'd be entering rush with other houses knowing you already tried pledging somewhere else, and in some instances that COULD be used against you. Not saying it automatically would be, but girls have friends outside of their house and talk to each other, so they'd know. But if you really feel strongly that the house you're pledging isn't right, then you could drop and try again. One thing I will say though is that this is only the first few weeks of pledging, and sometimes it takes more time to feel comfortable. I'd try giving it another week or 2 and if you still do not feel great about things, then maybe go ahead and drop. But the first couple weeks are ALWAYS awkward for everyone because you're getting to know people.
