rerushing
by: sophomoreWhat advice would you give a girl who rushed last year but didn't join a house and is planning on rerushing in the spring? Should I tell houses that I dropped a house if they ask why I'm rushing as a sophomore? Will it hurt my chances of getting in a house?

If you dropped a house as a sophomore, never tell a chapter that [especially if you never tried it/dropped for "status reasons" because that will mean that you were not committed to even trying a house. In my experience those people who dropped a chapter [mostly because they didn't like it] don't end up joining a chapter in the end. Most times when you re-rush outcomes aren't often that different than the first time you rushed -- a chapter dropped you for a reason, while some sophomores are successful with re-rushing, most are not.
