What's the usual time commitment for sororities? I'm really not sure what all goes on during the week, the only thing I know about is Monday night dinners, but I don't know too much about that either. Thanks!

lol its for life. you are committed for life. all houses are flexible and understanding, they'll do nothing but at least help you academically

Depends on the house. Some sororities give girls fines if they miss chapter or something. Busiest time will be as a sorority(pledge?) or whatever you call them. It's much easier being in a sorority since you're not at the mercy of a frat pledge master. Most of my sorority girl friends didn't seem too stressed unless it was initiation or philanthropy.

Maybe 5? If you have study hours it will be more. You can tell during recruitment how into the "sorority" stuff a house is. My house doesn't take up a ton of time. If you're in the Raikes school I might be concerned but other than that, you will have time.

The number of hours you have to commit really just depends on the week and what is going on and also how much you want to be involved. When things like your philanthropy or Greek Week/Homecoming Week come around you will be super busy and probably devote anywhere from 10-15 hours getting ready, but if you're only doing the bare minimum you can probably get away with 5. On normal weeks there's really only Monday night meeting and rest is kind of up to you. If you want to be on a committee or have a leadership position you have to devote a lot more time, but you definitely can do more even if you aren't one of these things!

My house has athletes and girls in honor programs and ones with essentially full time jobs and they're able to do it all! You get out what you put in, but houses are pretty understanding if you have a prior commitment that might interfere with a meeting or event.
