contact from fraternities

by: Pbt

If you don't get a call or get contacted by your desired fraternity or other few houses, does that mean they don't want you to take part of their rush events? How do you go about contacting a fraternity of your interest without looking too desperate or have a negative image?

No. It's too early. Usually fraternities will have rush events during the summer and invite everyone to come out and see if you're a good fit. An application online isn't a good representation of someone.

"unl" has it right. Still very early in recruiting. If you'd like to be contacted by houses, get on the Greek Affairs website and search for the fraternity websites. Almost all have contact information for the rush chairman. Any respectable house will have chairs that will respond to you in a timely manner, just identify yourself and why you're calling/texting. Don't stress over it, most won't start up the recruiting for another month or two.

How about for srudents who are not incoming freshmen?

The best advice for those who aren't freshmen is to start reaching out to houses. A few will undoubtedly ignore you but it doesn't hurt to seek out some houses that you don't know much about... never know what you're missing out on until you get out and meet them.
