Highly Recommend Greek Life here
by: Freshman
As all the PNM's sign up for recruitment and prepare for the week, my one piece of advice is to go through recruitment with an open mind and the goal of finding your future besties. Don't try to pretend you are someone else, get stuck on stupid ranks, and think that any house will be you instantly cool or uncool. I had so many girls in my group this year drop out of recruitment in the middle of the week because they got dropped by the houses they thought were "cool." They then tried to COB and spring rush those houses and didn't get a bid. They have been miserable as freshman without a house and are sad they aren't moving into a house next year as sophomores.
Speaking as a current freshman, I think my year would have been a lot less fun without my house, new sisters, and Greek philanthropy events and parties. I am in what is considered a top house and my roommate is in what is considered a bottom house and we have both had a great year, made a ton of good friends, attended a lot of events, and are excited about moving into our houses next year.
Just ignore the ranks and love the houses that love you.
Good luck!
