Fall rush tips?

by:

I'm kind of shy and I got bullied really badly in high school for it so if there's one thing I want to make sure of in college its that I have a solid social circle. What should I keep in mind for rushing in the fall so I get the most out of the experience? Anything I shouldn't' do or say?

My best advice to you... Don't drop out when you only get PM, ADII, KD, and AOII back.

To make the best in-person impression during rush, you will have to put yourself out there and overcome your shyness. You have to be interesting and friendly, as well as act interested. If you aren't able to do that, your rush will not be as successful as it could be. Practice speaking with strangers this summer. Make small talk with the store clerk as you check out. Make small talk as you stand in line. Make small talk at freshman orientation. Practice, practice, practice.

I got bullied in high school too! Like everyone says be yourself and don’t choose a house based on rank. I promise you after freshman year it doesn’t matter if you’re in a “top” house or not. Take advantage of every opportunity and MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE PEOPLE ON YOUR DORM FLOOR!!!
