Sorority Greek Preview

by: Jen

What is sorority greek preview day? It was on 2/23 this year, so I assume they will have it again next year too. Is it super informal where we walk around on our own? Or do the pnms have name tags and actually interact with actives?

I’m not sure the actual date for 2021 Greek Preview, they may have not made it official yet but it will be around the same time (late February to early March). It’s pretty formal, there’s an informational meeting you go to where they answer a lot of your questions and then a rho gam (someone who’s has temporarily disaffiliated with their sorority to help pnms with recruitment) will show you around to select houses. During those tours, you will get a tour of the house and the girls of that sorority will answer any questions you may have about their chapter. Towards the end of the day, you have an hour to go preview any sorority house you may not have seen on your tour. The tours with your rho gam are to show you a variety of houses with different girls while you can tour whatever house you wish to at the end of the day. But yes it is pretty formal, theres name tags and I suggest dressing nice

Thank you so much! I am coming from out of state (~ 7 hrs away) so I wasn't sure it would be worth it. Do you know if most of the girls rushing that next fall attend?

I would say most in state PNMs attend Greek Preview, there’s not many out of state people that attend. It’s a great experience to learn more about the houses and get an idea of what houses may be the best fit for you but it’s not a huge deal if you miss out. The girls that attend Greek Preview won’t have a head start over you like we don’t take notes on them or anything like that, we probs won’t even remember them lol. If you’re able to make it then I would say go for it but if you miss out, don’t worry
