How do high school grades and act scores play into frat bids?

Grades really don’t matter as long as they’re decent. As long as you get into the university, the ACT doesn’t matter at all.

This is true expect for like one or two houses where grades are very important but for the majority of houses as long as you can pull your weight you’re good.
