dropping to spring rush

What fraternity are you in, i heard most top fraternities dont spring rush.

Yeah good question. I'm not going to disclose what fraternity I'm in, but usually fraternities like Delt, SAE, Beta, SigEp will usually take 3-5 new pledges in the spring - which is why I mentioned that it is "small and selective". However, usually those 3-5 members are people that we have met in class, events, etc. and think they are cool and would be a good fit for our fraternity. Other ways are kids that a lot of other actives have known from high school or just transferred here from a different college/university.

Some fraternities I wouldn't expect to have spring rush this year. I was talking to my buddy in ATO and I think he said they have 43 pledges this semester so I wouldn't expect them to spring rush, along with Phi Delt who I think has 47 pledges this semester.

My advice is if you're wanting to join a fraternity in spring rush, get to know the guys in good fraternities now, especially the current pledges - as they'll be actives by next semester for spring rush. If not, there were 3 dudes in my PC last year (I'm a sophomore) that rushed as sophomores. Rushing as a sophomore is cool and some of my best friends in my PC are a grade ahead of me. I would say that none of the "top" houses really care if you rush as a sophomore as long as you fit and you like to have a good time.
