sorority rushing as a sophomore

by: UNL

I have a couple questions:

I am planning to rush next fall as a sophomore. Technically I will have Junior standing in credit hours but it will be my second year at college does that matter?

Also I am super involved on campus, I started my own RSO, im on exec of another, and im a member of two more. I also have close to a 4.0 and I have 2 jobs. Will I still be dropped just because I am a sophomore?

Do all houses take sophomores? If not which do?

I really just want to be in a house that is the best fit for me and im worried that a house will see im a sophomore and automatically disregard me, without getting to know me or even reading my application.

Honestly, most chapters don't overlook sophomores. And if they overlook you because of that, they're obviously missing out considering you sound amazing.

I rushed last year as a sophomore and it was great. My entire recruitment group was also sophomores and almost everyone in my group joined a house! I think only like 3 out of the 10 in my group ending up dropping so they definitely do not drop you just for that reason. You have a super solid GPA and your involvement is amazing. As long as you keep that up this spring you have a very good chance. Don't let being a sophomore stop you I absolutely love my chapter and I'm so happy I rushed as a second year!

I know basically all houses last fall took sophomores. No one is gonna drop you just for that reason. If your open house rounds go well I don't see why you wouldn't make it past the first cut with pretty much every house, especially if your your rush app is this good.
