Hi there!
Every chapter cuts at a different GPA and these GPA's may change from year to year. In general, the grade report can give you a really, really good idea of what high school GPA chapters might cut off at. For examples, I think Gamma Phi was first last semester with around a 3.6 GPA; therefore, you should expect these chapters to cut off around that grade point average, maybe a little lower because a 3.6 is fairly high when you consider high schools vary in challenging-ness (not a real word) across the country. I would also suggest looking at past grade reports to understand what the cut may be. Generally, the same fives sororities fill the top spots. These are usually, Gamma Phi, A Phi (usually the top two), Chi Omega, Theta and sometimes AOII will pop in there. We did add another sorority this year to Panhellenic and I also think they will be in the top from here on out. I would imagine most of these above chapters, that consistently achieve above a 3.5 GPA will probably have a higher cut.
As for the other chapters, and this is just speculation, I would assume maybe all but 1-3 have at least a 3.0 GPA cut, so if you are below that your options will be pretty limited. I would imagine though, that their GPA cuts are more likely to be around a 3.2 (as a min).
While these cuts seem really scary and challenging, it is still worth your time to go through recruitment! I could be completely wrong about these cuts, as they are not openly shared. I only know the cut...

of my chapter and most people only know the cut of their chapter. In addition, sororities that have generally really high GPA cuts, expect you to hold a really strong preference for academics and along with that a higher college GPA. If you do not place as high as value in having top notch grades, as there are many other reasons to attend college, then you may not enjoy being in these chapters. If your GPA does not accurately reflect your value of academics because you got sick durning high school or had another event occur that causes a lower GPA, still give recruitment a shot! The GPA standards may not be what I believe they are or you may come to love a chapter without those cuts- you just won't know unless you go through.
If you don't come to love a chapter or your GPA is too low for all chapters, I would strongly suggest improving your GPA in your first semester/year of college! Most chapters require a lower college GPA than high school (which is weird for me because I actually have a higher college GPA). And rushing as a sophomore will not prevent you at all from getting a great chapter. It usually is an added benefit for people! If you have any follow-up questions from this please just comment and I will try to remember and come back to answer them. I am procrastinating packing for college
