pushing involvement in chapters
by: Kelli H
So I am a PNM who is concerned about being able to tell the "values" or whatever of chapters durning the week. I am a girl who is looking for a fairly "typical" sorority and college experience. I care about grades and being involved and such to an extent, but I REALLY DO NOT want to end up in a chapter that is like crazy about those things.
I have been looking at rankings on here and then houses social media and it's kinda annoying bc it looks like all the "well-rounded" top chapters and some of the "party" top chapters are like really involved on campus to the point where you have to be?
For example- all those academic honors things with the weird spray paint or whatever, pretty sure every top "well-rounded" chapter (aphi, theta and gphi) have a million ppl in them (or does like everyone get into them) and I am pretty sure they all have like 4 ppl on Homecoming court (or atleast i think gphi & theta do?) It seems like they super super care about this stuff, like too much? But at the same time the party chapters have basically terrible grades. Is there a good balance at UNL (there isn't much on this site about the ones in between)? And can you tell this stuff through recruitment?
Pllzzz help!

If you do not keep your mind open during your recruitment you won't get a bid, us in chapters can tell you are not being yourself. Which will lead to getting no bid at the end of the week. Think about this there is over 1000 girls going through recruitment and there are only so many spots usually around 600, so keep your mind open or be a GDI.

I want to be involved and do well in school I just don't want to be FORCED or PUSH to do so much stuff I literally have zero freedom and from looking at these chapters and these people in these chapter its looks like thats how it goes. So basically- is this true? Do chapters FORCE you to be involved in like 10 different things or have a 4.0 GPA?
