how hard is it really to get into a house?
by: HiMy cousin is a junior at UNL and I was asking her about rush and she made it seem like no big deal. She said as long as you have good grades, are passionate and friendly you will more than likely get all the houses you want. I know she had a fun time during rush but after reading things on this website and seeing other incoming freshman getting so worried about it, I am getting worried too. For others out there who have gone through rush, is my cousin right? Will you usually get all of your top houses back? And if so, why are people so worried?

She's definitely sugar coating it. I think she just doesn't want you to be scared or afraid but you most definitely won't get back all of your top picks. The first two days is all the same round and most likely if you get cut from a house it's because of your GPA its nothing against you. It's always good to have letters of recommendation because there's a better chance of them calling you back to know you better. Don't be scared and just have a good time and you'll be fine!
