Forgiveness and Punishment

by:

I think we should forgive Whitney and the freshmen. She probably will learn a lot from this- especially that men aren't robots with invincibility to degradation. But at the same time, so that this never repeats, harsh and swift punishment from the SCHOOL admin should be seeked. I think most of us agree expulsion is a good first step but it doesn't have to be that. Lets just all be kind and get back to work

ok oax
You’re not too smart if you think we’ll believe this is just Whitney. SEVERAL girls commented on that slide show. We saw it. They’re all accountable. As are the upperclassmen who assigned this pledge project.

it’s not a pledge project. oax might be wack but they’re not stupid. and the girls who made it aren’t even officially in the srat anyway.

OP is spitting facts. This girls life at this school is forever stained, people need to ease up.

i agree with forgiveness of the overall OAX name, but if this was a frat, there would be 0 calls for sympathy and pity... why then with a girl? she and others must be expelled or suspended for some time

Half of the comments on here are literally made to invoke a specific response that makes it look like an attempt on behalf of the org to speak. All of this is here say and anon opinions that are all based on speculation and are not helping the situation move forward in any way that’s productive. I can appreciate wanting to be forgiving but frankly we just aren’t at that point in the situation. It’s obvious that there is more to be reviewed and from there the individuals responsible will be held accountable. This is out of control because people are running a witch hunt when they don’t even know where to look. These boys deserve the dignity of a factual investigation.

If you let things happen in a responsible way from here it would serve every individual involved.

It doesn't matter if I/we forgive her/them. I was never mad about it. The people they need to seek forgiveness from are those guys that they humiliated and shamed to thousands of people

I would say that our forgiveness would be helpful in a moral sense though. Continuing to humiliate her on the internet, for humiliating others on the internet, is just perpetuating the type of eye for an eye justice that is inherently toxic and blocks actual change from ever happening at this school.
