Clout Chasing Thoughts

Everybody chases clout, whether it be BB for bankers, MBB for consultants, Harvard med for pre-meddies, FANG for tech, Teach for America blah blah blah. Does the clout fulfill you in the end? What I'm asking is simple: Is the clout chase worth it?

not typically true for IB but for consulting, medicine/science and big tech the institutions that have clout usually draw and attract some of the smartest people not just in that field but in general... so its pretty fulfilling to be in an even more intellectual and ambitious atmosphere than Penn which is noteworthy in it of itself

Yeah I feel that. I just watched Soul the other day which is why I asked. I think the pursuit of the becoming the best you can possibly be, whatever form that may take, is definitely worth it. And for many at Penn, that naturally lends itself to these prestigious places.

sometimes the clout chase is worth it esp if u work hard u will reap big rewards, but dont kill urself over it
