Putting Wharton below Yale or Princeton is laughable.
Putting Wharton below Chicago or Caltech is simply unforgivable.
Clearly a CASer who wrote this...

ok no one will ever pick Wharton over Princeton... there are some who will pick Wharton over Chicago and Yale (and Caltech is totally different type of student- more comparable to CAS STEM or SEAS)
Wharton is the best in business but don't know anyone who would consider business education to be intellectually challenging beyond a certain degree... we all know Wharton has the third best name in finance and analytics after Harvard and Stanford but it really warrants very little praise in other very important fields like say preparing people for Science, Technology, Medicine or Law

@Lol look thats completely fair but Wharton is not the only school that sends people to high finance lol... its not like there is a unique path to get into those roles so there's no way you chose Wharton over Princeton's Economics dept because both are solid paths to making money in finance.. i can understand if Philly was a bigger draw... nevertheless no one will ever consider Wharton the better Economics program than Princeton

@Goldman Sak
No offense, but it's pretty clear you're in CAS and don't actually know much about Wharton.

If you were in Wharton, you'd know that a good amount of people, probably half of wharton/princeton cross-admits, go to Wharton. Same with Yale. Maybe a little less with Harvard but it's still common.

Second, "preparing people for science, technology, medicine, or law" is something Wharton does brilliantly. We can get minors or degrees in CAS but when it comes to actually applying what you learn in the world to enact change, you need business. Business is a tool not a career field.

Finally, the idea that Wharton isn't intellectually challenging is a great stereotype perpetuated by CASers. I implore you to take Fnce 207 or Stat 430, and we can discuss intellectual rigor. Wharton classes also emphasize different skillsets like logical thinking and public speaking that you don't see as much in route-memorization CAS classes.

Relax kiddo sorry got you worked up, don't know too many scientists, engineers or doctors who went to Wharton alone! Alright I feel like we'd probably agree on most things but aint worth diving into the CAS v Wharton petty argument... You do realize CAS has STEM programs too that are super rigorous and not rote memorization....

I think you have gotta be a freshman cuz I never met a Wharton student that defended Finance 207 after taking it (most of Wharton friends have lol so I know more than you)

Bro btw I think you don't understand.... Wharton-Princeton cross admits are a self selected group of people who wanted to pursue business or econ in undergraduate ... but how about like the rest of Princeton students who are studying totally different fields like Math, CS, Engineering, Classics-- all of which Princeton is much better than Wharton (And Penn in general) at because frankly Wharton doesn't have those departments hahaha... simply put Wharton is a subset of Penn and cant really be compared to another University

Ite let me settle this debate. It's stupid to compare Wharton to Harvard or Princeton because it'd be like comparing Lebron James to the entire Golden State Warriors team.

I will say this though, this CASer seems to put Harvard or Pton on a pedestal because it satisfies what he sees as important in education. But Whartonites see education differently.

So a lot of us turned down Pton or Yale (and less often, Harvard) without much thought because it doesn't offer what we want out of undergrad which isn't lollygagging to geology and political science classes to call yourself "intellectual" but building strong problem-solving and reasoning skills to apply to real-world problems.

I love having the Wharton school at Penn, a lot of my close friends are alpha Wharton-knights haha... but can't say my stem major in CAS is even comparable to Wharton, totally different kinds of students and paths forward... i guess Econ/PPE/IR in CAS might be a better comparison with Wharton
