Are First-Semester Freshman Considered "Geeds"???

My older brother (in a T1 frat) and I got in a fight today, and, out of nowhere, he called me a "geed."

I was pretty taken aback by the vulgar language and told him I wasn't a geed and that I'd be rushing next semester. He then said that it didn't matter and that until I rushed, I'd be a geed.

Is this true??? I'd like to remove myself from that disgusting term as soon as possible.
