You might get a chance to meet and interact with more guys during mixers, but if you really think someone would “like you better” upon joining a sorority, like come on

In my experience yes, at least frat guys it's always the first question they ask lol. But that says a lot about their priorities as well..

Of course it matters, especially frat guys. But every guy I’ve met at Penn has asked if im in a sorority, and will make assumptions about you depending on the stereotype of the sorority. Top tier frat boys will rarely give you the time of day if you aren’t in a well respected sorority.

Unfortunately often people care based off the prestige of ones sorority. They’ll probably like you regardlsss of affiliations but being in a top tier vs bottom tier might mean the difference between being shown off and actively pursued vs being a hidden away thing

^ this is spot on.
Guys will often hide their hookups who r in non top sororities to save face.
For example, I’ve heard of a lot of top frat guys blowing off non top datenights. This really only happens second semester when the social scenes divides hard and people in lower srats are unaware.

Being in a frat or srat is a double edged sword. And a sharp one at that too haha you get stereotyped big time based on your house but at the same time you get a well planned social life, particularly dope if your a natural extrovert
