Best Advice from an Outgoing Senior

by:

Here is my advice to be successful and happy at Penn:

1) Reward yourself as much as possible, whether it be by going downtown or making a visit to the bar or making that booty call.

2) Study a lot but only for the classes in-major or that will help for your future aspirations.

3) Take CIS 110 and MATH 114 even if they might be the hardest classes you take. Don't ever underestimate your abilities. Besides, its an informal right of passage here and everyone will talk about these classes all the time especially freshman year.

4) Always be extremely skeptical about what people say is the best path or obvious next step. Go your own way and if it happens to coincide with others, then awesome, but if it doesn't then even better.

5) If you do find yourself falling into group think, then take a break from the group, reassess your self and your goals and don't be so goddamn stupid haha.

second this, taking 110 and math 114/240 opens your doors to whole bunch of classes and skills that you would otherwise have thought were too complicated, even if they dont feel like they directly relate them
