greek life as we know it is probably dead

by:

basically title. if we're on campus at all next sem, it's gonna be super restricted as per Gutmann's email. expect any renegade party to be shut down instantly w/ pretty severe consequences. that also means dirty rush is pretty much gonna be nonexistent + in general no one is really gonna be able to interact with the freshman in any meaningful way.

penn admin has been aiming to destroy greek life for a while now (see housing policy change, task force, etc) and i think this might be it. it's been fun, y'all.

love to know some of y'all's thoughts, just a little bummed out now that reality abt next semester is finally here via gutmann email.

I’m sorry you dislike Greek life, but a semester or two off isn’t going to kill it.

Social life at Penn will always continue and parties will rage forever but greek life can stop in an instant. There is nothing wrong with holding on to hope. But if you dont consider the possibility of ending seriously then you must have made a big gamble on our greek system

exactly what i was trying to say. not like people are just gonna stop partying or whatever lmao. greek life requires a steady pipeline of freshman interested in rushing. that number is gonna go wayyyy down with no open parties/dirty rush stuff next sem, which i just dont see happening

lol dammn i want greek life to happen too but things are changing so fast, just cause you arent optimistic about it doesn't mean you dislike it... besides Penn has a short term goal to dismantle greek life the way Harvard did
