rushing this fall

During orientation I met a lot of people from the Minneapolis area and they said the three best fraternities were SAE, PIKE and SigEp. Can I get in if I'm from Wisconsin? And is it worth joining a frat if I can't get in one of those 3?

No. Nobody in a frat is from Wisconsin. Don't even try.

First off join a fraternity. No it does not matter where your from to get into a good house. Secondly, yes those houses may be looked at as "top tier" and have higher social preference but that does not mean that there are not other houses for you. Go through recruitment with an open mind and find where you fit in. DO NOT join a house because they're supposedly the best. If you end up where you belong, Greek LIfe will be the best experience of your life.
