gpa requirements for pnm (sorority)
by: hipeople
Hi,
Just wondering if there's a minimum high school GPA that sororities look at? (for example, don't accept pnm's with a GPA below a 3.5 etc)?
Or do they even care about high school GPA in general?
Thanks

yes, sororities do look at your gpa during recruitment. academic achievement is a big deal and they want to recruit girls who have shown they care about academics. a lot of sororities also value knowledge or striving to learn etc, and they want girls who may share those values. gpa is a way to see that even if you dont have time to talk about academics during recruitment.
however, they also make cuts due to high school gpa, and the gpa cutoff varies by chapter. this did bother me a little bit, as you can really connect with a house and they can end up cutting you anyways because you were .1 away from their gpa cutoff. these gpa requirements arent insanely high, but most chapters will have their cutoff for high school gpa at 3.1 or higher from my experiences.
tl:dr; yes, high school gpa matters.
