rushing

I'm going to be a freshman this year at ISU. During high school, I had a lot of personal issues and those caused my grades to suffer for a while, so my overall GPA is not that great. However, I would love to join a sorority and be able to make new friends, have an incentive to keep my grades up, etc. I really want to turn my life around in college. I'm scared I will not get a bid though due to my GPA. Is it really that hard to get a bid at ISU? Should I even bother rushing?
