do people actually take the rankings seriously

hi confused gdi here i like don't understand rankings do they affect like how people make friends or get homecoming pairings.... like are the rankings real

Depends ish like the ranks in the taking section are pretty bs but the ones people make in the discussion section matter but only to a small extent like if you’re paired with two lower ranked houses for hoco or greekweek you might be a bit pissed but like it’s Kinda something people don’t really care about past freshman year (but like some of the things you see one here about certain frats and stuff I would say is good advice to follow like negative comments about a certain chapter might mean stay away)
