Joining a sorority is not about what "rank" it is. When you go through primary recruitment, many of you will not make your first choice house, some of you not even one of your top three. You may have great, wonderful chats with girls during recruitment and still get cut from that house. This does not mean there's something wrong with you!! This does not mean that they think you're weird, socially awkward or "not cool enough" to be a part of their house. There are so many factors that go into recruitment that you won't learn about until you're a part of a great house that fits who you are. Iowa state uses values based recruitment, so just be true to who you are and be honest with not only yourself but the girls you talk to. Don't pretend you like something you don't, or pretend you think a certain way when you don't (we can also tell when you're doing this). Be aware of how much you let other people influence your vision of a certain house, you won't know until you meet all the girls! PNMs, if you're interested, TELL US! There's nothing like wondering if the girl you're talking to doesn't like our sorority. We are JUST as nervous as you are. We want to get to know the real YOU so the more honest and open you are with us the better we know if you're a good fit for us!

Going Greek is a great decision, and one of the best that I've ever made. Go into this new experience looking for lifelong friends and don't chase after an image. Have fun and good luck girls!!!
