worth it?
by: InformalI really want to join a sorority, but the only chapter I’ve gotten info about for informal recruitment is AGD and I have heard they don’t really do anything on campus or with other chapters- is it worth joining to at least get to be in a chapter?

Hey, So I was in your exact position last year and they were the only one available, I'd say don't do it. I mean think about it you're spending loads of money and time to join a sorority so it's not worth it to join one that you don't truly enjoy. I'd say (depending on your year) to just wait and do formal during the Fall next year so you can join one you actually like.

What Same boat really means is you need to be open to joining any of our groups, and the best way to get to know every group a little is thru formal recruitment. After the first open formal party, it will be up to the sororities and you to place your heart and mind in a home.
As far as "joining to at least get to be in a chapter" you seriously need to examine just what you will be bringing to any sorority that decides to bid you. One does not simply choose to belong and then attempt to fill any open spot in any house bidding. Social and philanthropic venues are fulfilled by thousands of sorority women working together on a daily basis.
Sorority is a life-long commitment where the values of loyalty and authenticity make for better living. Are you an earnest, dedicated and kind individual? Those may be traits a sorority is looking for when they meet you. Don't disappoint them by having the attitude, "I just want some greek letters to wear during college".
