is house rank important?

It honestly depends on your values. This year everyone complained about ChiO cutting "like everyone" the first round of recruitment, and how dumb they thought that was, but the reason for that is that everyone secretly wanted a ChiO bid because they are top house. A lot of girls love their middle/bottom tier houses but a lot are secretly resentful and think about what life could be like if they were in a top house. Many middle tier houses like to pretend that they are "on the rise". So to answer your question yes, being in a top house will most likely affect your level of satisfaction.

Your house doesn't really matter when it comes to functions, pretty much everybody does a date parties, bus parties, ect. and pairs with frats for socials and competitions. Whatever house you end up in, you can have a good time, none of the houses here are "bad".

Um. Not one house it the best. Ask around. If someone thinks their house is the best that's the problem. Ego over reality.

No it really doesn't matter. I've heard of lots of drama and un-real friendships happening in top tier houses because it's all about the looks and very superficial. As for events, I was in a mid tier sorority and there were as many events as there are in low tier and high tier. And they're all super fun events too- don't decide on their rank it means nothing

The only thing that matters is the people in the house, you want to fit in no matter where you go. There's some people in top houses that would've fit in somewhere else better so they kind of feel isolated in their house. There's people in middle or lower bourses that might've fit in better at different ones. All depends on how you like the people. Don't choose a top house if you have to put on a persona. Be yourself and you'll find the house for you.
