My friend is having the same problem! She wishes she hadn't dropped out either...:-( Someone please give advice on this.....I'm sure many girls are feeling the same way. You get caught up and disappointed that your favorites dropped you make an emotional decision, now what?
( please don't say anything mean- she's sweet and smart and nice, just made a hasty decision...)

AGD didn't make quota so they might be interested in taking some girls but you'd have to adjust your kind of "entitled" attitude to realize that they are a heck of a great group of girls. They are some of the most fun and affirming girls at OU and anyone would be lucky to have them as sisters.

But if you don't have enough self-esteem to realize that you're the same person whether you're a Theta or an AGD, then please don't bother them. They aren't a self-help group or a group of pitiful petunias. They're a great group of girls who have a tremendous amount of fun and are quite involved in CAC activities and their philanthropy.

It is very hard to rush at OU as a sophomore. It's almost guaranteed that you will be cut by Theta, Kappa, TriDelt, PiPhi and Chi O....maybe Gamma Phi too. HOWEVER, I am not sure what the other house's policies for sophomores are. Alpha Chi, Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Gamma Delta are in my opinion the best chapters for true sisterhood. They're not cookie cutter houses and they are all outstanding in their own way. Once you get over the whole "I'll only rush a top house" attitude, you'll realize that it does not matter. I'm older and half of my friends are in other houses or not even in a house!!! I would encourage you to spring rush and skip the craziness of formal recruitment or go through formal recruitment again if you want a shot at all the houses. Good luck.

If you dropped before you went to pref and didn't make choices on pref night then you are eligible to go through spring recruitment. I highly advise doing spring recruitment. The top houses don't spring recruit because they aren't allowed to if they are at house total. A couple hrs ago the house total was raised so everyone got to take a few girls. That was just a one time deal though because of raising house total. Meet as many freshmen girls in sororities this fall and let them know you are interested in doing spring re recruitment. You should also call the Panhellenic office. If you went through pref and made selections you are actually still bound to the house you were placed in so if that's the case contact them and let them know you would still like to pledge. Good Luck
