bidding minorities

by: incoming

I'm a incoming African-American freshman, and I want to rush a ifc fraternity but because of the recent incident which I'm sure you have all been hearing about for a while now will it be a problem with me getting bid or should I just not give it a try?

You should expect to be treated just like anyone else, meaning if you've got a great personality, good looks, great grades, lots of good activities, good recs, etc., then you'll get bids to good houses. If you're lacking in some or all of those areas, you will probably still get a bid, but don't start out at the top houses. SAE was not a typical OU fraternity. Also, don't forget BYX.

I question if you are who you say you are. A few days after that story broke it was also all over social media that the president of OU Phi Delta Theta was African American and he wrote a very eloquent letter about the incident and OU.
