this is total bs
by: bsSorority rush is all about who you know, recommendation letters, grades do not matter. Having a daughter that wen through this process I figured out pretty quickly you only get into what is considered a top sorority (Kappa, Theta, DDD) if you are legacy or if you have friends that are going to push you through regardless of of grades, etc. My daughter had excellent grades (made the presidents honor roll), excellent recommendation and she was wasn't considered a great asset for any of the above mentioned sororities. She did get a bid and is part of a sorority but I'm not sure she will last the entire 4 years. Be prepared for disappointed if you do not have a connection in those what is considered the top houses.

I feel so sorry for your daughter. I would hate it if my mom were so caught up in what other people thought was the best that she couldn't be happy for me. My mom was in a house at OU (one of the ones you mentioned) and I chose another house for myself. My mom has absolutely thrown herself into the mom's club for my house and is on the mom's day committee and has helped with all kinds of events at the house. I'm so glad she's not a social climber like you.
