nobody cares

by: hi

Hi pnms,
Nobody cares what house you are in after the first semester. Literately, nobody. They only care that you're not a Geed.
Here should be your goals for the next few weeks: Move to Norman, Go to all 11 houses the first day, have killer conversations with the girls rushing you, cut the houses YOU want to cut and Keep the houses YOU want to keep (don't listen to your high school bff or suitemate), when you get your bid~~~GO TO BID DAY~~~, don't cry. You'll be making the biggest mistake of your life if you miss bid day because you "think" you didn't get the house you wanted. make friends with the girls in your house, have a BLAST. This is your first real taste of freedom, don't spend it sulking because you didn't get your "dream house." Being in a house at all is an honor! You will meet 90+ people with your new pledge class-there has to be someone you like in there. Don't be a brat. Give the house you get a shot. Get involved. MAKE THE MOST OUT OF EVERY SECOND BECAUSE IT IS JUST FOUR YEARS OF YOUR LIFE AND IT GOES BY SO FAST.

pan love, y'all

to correct myself: the people that still care about what house you are in after the first semester are the type of people you don't wanna be friends with. Remember the girl in high school whose only claim to fame was talking badly about people, being averagely pretty and having nice clothes? those are the kind of people that care about what house you are in. The majority of OU Sorority members have friends in every sorority. The nice girls don't care.

The only honest thing anyone has said on this discussion page. Also it was done with no put downs or backhanded comments to any chapter. Will wonders ever cease.

This is very truthful. No one cares. Just find a house and make life long relationships.

Very true! The biggest mistake you can make is deciding in advance which houses you want. Almost everyone gets released from between one and ten houses. Just assume you will too. My best advice is to look at your party list each day and decide to make the most of the houses on that list. Forget about yesterday. Don't wonder why you got cut. Just decide to have a great day. And at the end of the day pick a favorite. If you don't get invited back to your favorite the next day.... Pick a new favorite! All our houses are good and there will be girls you adore in each house. Maybe you don't get to meet them during recruitment week, but if you go into bid day happy and excited about WHICHEVER house you end up with, then you WILL find those girls that will always be your best friends!

Is is great advice. No matter what anyone says on this site all OU houses are great in their own right. Each one is loved by their members.
