It does somewhat help, but my advice for you is to also get rec letters from alumnaes! It does not matter what school your chosen alumnae went to, they just have to be in a house that is present at OU! For example, if you're from Missouri and you know a Theta that graduated from TU you can definitely get a rec letter from her. Also, there's kind of a difference between a rush resume and a regular resume. So I would try looking it up. Rush resumes are a bit easier to do so don't stress too much about it :)

The top houses could more than fill a class with their legacies. It will get you an invitation to the second day at my house and most of the others I know about. After that, you may be dropped. If you make it to pref, you're in.

Being a legacy can help a bit but it is not guarantee.

There are different types of legacies. If your sister is in the house, that's pretty powerful. But a grandma that was in the sorority at another university isn't powerful at all.

You'll for sure get called back for day 2, it's kinda an obligation. After that you're stuck on your own.

You need to decide whether you fit in there and I'd say do it in advance. PNMs should go to legacy weekend and get to know the girls. Then, if you don't think it's a good fit (you don't like them that much or they don't like you that much), you'll know going into recruitment. You'll be asked about your legacy status. You can say you haven't decided, but you're less likely to be cut by houses you like if you tell them that your legacy house is not a good fit.
