I would agree that they take many different girls. Both of these houses are great houses. Pi phi is more hipster kind of chill girls and tri Delt is more pageant, smart kind of girl next door girls. Tri Delt is very involved in campus and so is Pi phi. I would go in with an open mind even with connections. These are some of the hardest houses to get bids from even with girls pulling for you. At the end of the week you may see you don't fit into either of those houses and end up pledging another house. All I'm saying is when you go through recruitment you will see which house best suits you. Asking on this website won't really give you the answers you need.

truthfully all the houses have every type girl but DDD is afraid to invite girls to preff if they think Theta Kappa PiPhi or ChiO have invited them back for pref too. That strategy has caused them to get bad pledge classes the last three years, well not bad just not as good as the other four houses and last year Aphi got girls to pref their house over DDD. I think it's clear if you look at this site DDD is working it really hard and that's the biggest indicator of all.

All the houses take different types of girls and that shouldn't be confusing. Don't ask for advice on here or you'll be even more confused. Many people on here will give you misleading advice just to make their own house and their friend's house look good.

Answer to your question -- no one goes DDD if they can go PiPhi
