Be polite, outgoing and cute every day and act like you want to be there! You do know the top houses know who they want in their pledge class before rush even starts, right?

Exactly.. You're already either out or in and you can't really help it that much. But don't get taken off the list by being rude/not cute, etc.

it depends on your reasons for joining a sorority. i honestly joined because i am not good at making girl friends. i was interested in finding girls that i thought were cool, that i also thought were cool. if you listen to all the stereotypes and which house everyone thinks who should go into, you might not be happy. I LOVE the house i am in and I knew NOTHING about greek life coming in. If you are joining a sorority to get a guy, it doesn't really matter which house you are in because guys don't care as much as we think they do. The only reason you want a "top" house is if there are girls you personally know there, you are a legacy, or you are joining a sorority to be popular. If you legitmately like the house, and it happens to be "top" that is good. But joining a house because it is top might make you miserable.

do legacies have a good chance of getting into a "top" house? i dont know many people at ou, but i am a legacy to one of the top 4 houses, what are my chances?

Depends. I was a triple legacy to a top house and wrote it down, so every house cut me the first day thinking I would be in that house. I love the house I'm in now, but being a legacy definitely hurt me.

Wait wait wait... they already know if they want me or not before they even meet me? uh... HOW?!

I'm a legacy at a house I have ZERO interest in being in... so should I just not write it down? That way I won't get automatically cut from houses I do want to be in.

Being a legacy doesn't mean anything. It's supposed to give you a leg up, but I was cut from my legacy house as were a lot of my friends, whereas alot of non legacies made the pledge class.
