sorority comments

I copied this from a while back. I think it is a good explanation of the houses. Ignore the numbers if you want.All of you are wrong. This is how it stands at OU.

1) Kappa = Prettiest, most popular, best house. Top, without a doubt.
2) Theta = Has been top for the longest, fell a little bit with this PC, but they'll still always be "Theta" unless they really screw up.
3) Tri Delt = Used to suck, but they've risen a lot. Since a couple of the houses ahead of them have pulled some seriously bad moves recently, they're the new number three.
4) Gamma Phi = Classiest, nicest, best grades. Not quite as gorgeous as the other tops, but sweet and still pretty.
5) Alpha Phi = Really good PC, working really hard. Need to stop drinking a little, but really have done great this year. It all depends on next years rush with them, honestly.
6) Pi Phi = Used to be top 3, but wow.. Bad behavior and mean girls. Seriously disappointing.
7) DG = Pretty decent,
8) Chi O = Same as Pi Phi, but more extreme.

Look at Chi O. They self-ranked 19 times today to get their rank up. Completely embarrassing, girls. I think it's hilarious that even 19 self ranks only brings them up to #10.

you girls are so nice to each other. imo, you're all acting bottom tier.

Top Tier
1. Theta - does consistently well in CAC activities
2. Tri-Delt - owned scandals and notoriously hot
3. Kappa - didn't win anything at scandals, but that still only brings them down to #3
4. Pi Phi - people have been hating, but their a good strong house

Middle Tier:
5(ish). DG - only house to place in scandals 3 years running. also 2nd homecoming
6(ish). Gamma phi - hurt that they didn't make scandals, but pc 10 keeps them strong
7. Chi-O - used to be higher, but slipping lately

Lower Tier
8. Alpha Phi - extremely impressed that they made scandals, but there was a clear distinction between a-phi and the other five acts
9. Alpha Chi - a bit of a mixed bag. they're getting better at shaking off their party-girl rep, though.

Bottom Tier:
10. AOPi - i don't like to put them at #10 because they are great girls, but i think it's difficult for them to shake their rep
11. AGD - again, good girls, but unfortunately it's the way things are.

no, i have to completely disagree with that, as would most people at OU.

top = theta/tri delt/kappa/pi phi

middle = gamma phi/aphi/chi o/dg

bottom = axo/aopi/agd

I'd move Gamma Phi up to the top tier. It's ridiculous to say they're chubby. Have you seen them? They're darling! (Also, there are chubby girls in every house and I've seen way more chubs in a house you put at top tier than Gamma Phi.)
By the way, I'm not a Gamma Phi, I'm just annoyed at your inaccuracy.

I mean, you might not be a Gamma Phi and I respect your opinion, but usually when people say they aren't from a certain house they usually are... Gamma Phi is a great house, but honestly, I have seen a good amount of chubby girls (although they have cute faces). They also simply haven't succeeded in any CAC events lately. They definitely deserve the number 5 spot, but they're still middle tier.

I would have to agree with their descriptions of each house. One year does not prove anything for those houses "moving up" or "moving down." Tradition on campus and consistency are what make a good house, and I think that Chi O, DG, and Gamma Phi are all great houses, but Chi O and DG have had the best to show for these past few years as far as Scandals, Homecoming, other CAC events and just having tons of girls involved in different Execs. Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi aren't there yet, but they are improving a lot.

what are the sororities reputations on campus? i know that its a lot of opinions... but i just wanted to know what they're known as. thinking about rushing next fall here.

When girls come through rush, they know the Kappa, Tri Delt, Theta, Pi Phi and Chi O name. How are girls rushing going to know the reps of the houses? Unless people are dirty rushing and talking bad about these houses, PNMs are going to come in expecting those houses to be good. They will have no idea who Gamma Phi and Alpha Phi are, and that's what will hold those two houses back during rush.
